CAN YOU DONATE BLOOD?
Alan has Auto Immune Hemolytic Anemia with an added issue of bone marrow suppression which is preventing him from making his own blood.
Frisco resident, Alan Abraham turned three years old last week. The youngest of three children of Paul and Stacey Abraham, his birthday party wasn’t at the usual places; it was at Children’s Medical Center in Plano, where he has been for several weeks now.
This past weekend his father sent an email to some of the Leadership Frisco Alumni. The letter said “There are no definite answers as to what is wrong with Alan, but this is what we have been told: “Alan has Auto Immune Hemolytic Anemia with an added issue of bone marrow suppression which is preventing him from making his own blood. Since his blood is being “killed off” by the antibodies and his bone marrow is suppressed, he is currently in Aplastic Crisis since last Friday.
Alan has been receiving blood transfusions at least twice a day to sustain him, and given that the blood banks are in low supply already, I am asking anyone that can donate blood to please make a donation in Alan’s behalf. Alan won’t receive your blood directly, so blood types do not matter. What we’re hoping to accomplish is to help our blood banks by giving back and the family will also receive “credit” for the amount given on his behalf. You can donate by going to any Carter Blood Care facility and give them his name – Alan Maloy Abraham – and his sponsor number 051386”
When many of Paul’s Leadership Frisco Alumni friends saw the email they knew they had to act. Immediately the wheels were set in motion and a blood drive was planned. The obvious location was Frisco Cares Clinic, because Frisco truly cares about Alan and any child in need.
FRISCO CARES about everyone in the community and when there is a need Frisco steps up to help their own. Please Help Alan by taking 30 minutes of your time and donating to a child in great need.
FRISCO CARES is honored and ready to serve as the location for this very important event.
The Blood Drive for Alan details are as follows:
Thursday – November 10, 2011
3 pm – 7 pm
Frisco Cares Clinic
6811 Oak Street Frisco, TX 75034
If you can’t make it Thursday or it is too soon for you to donate, you can use Alan’s direct donate number and donate at any Carter Blood Care Center in his name:
Alan Maloy Abraham – Sponsor Number 051386
The Carter Blood Care Vans will be at the Celina Balloon Festival this weekend. Receive FREE admission to anyone donating blood. And you can direct donate to Alan there as well, please bring the Sponsor Number 051386.
