TREC- new Rules

Starting March 9, the Texas Real Estate Commission will require agents’ advertising to clearly and conspicuously contain the name of their broker. That name can be that of the individual broker, a business entity licensed as a corporate broker, or an assumed name of the broker that’s on file with TREC. The rule doesn’t stipulate a minimum required size for the broker’s name; however, TREC has adopted a policy that if the broker’s name is at least half the size of the largest contact information in the advertising, that ad will be acceptable under the rule.

EDUCATION this week

MCE at CCAR next week taught by Bob Baker

Next week on March 7th and the 9th there will be a 15 hour MCE class at CCAR.  This class includes the 6 hours of TREC Legal Update and Ethics and an additional 9 hours of contract negotiations.  The class is called Contract Negotiations and is a 15 hour class that must be taken in its entirety.  Monday the 7th is an 8 hour day and Wednesday is a 7 hour day.

If you are interested please call CCAR at 972-618-3800 and speak to Carol or Terri, you could try to sign up online but CCAR is having trouble with their on-line system so you may not be successful so if you are not please call CCAR to register.

This a great class and will contain some of the newest TREC changes and some new contract negotiations material.

I look forward to having as many of our agents as possible in the class.

If you have any question please email me.

Thank you

Bob
